since 1894
history of the landmark
In 1894, a pioneering entrepreneur by the name of W.E. Adams established the Adams Bros. Wholesale Grocery, the first of several buildings, which later became known as the Adams Block. Expanded upon over the course of the next 39 years, the Adams Block was and continues to be a prominent and historic landmark in Deadwood, SD.
Furthering the legacy, in the entrepreneurial spirit of Adams himself, the Adams Block was restored and transformed in 2022 into a first-rate hotel and casino that can again be enjoyed by locals and tourists alike in all its prior glory.
The Gold Rush brought with it promises of a remarkable life, and it’s a promise that carries through to today. Your winning streak starts at The Landmark Hotel & Casino.
