The Landmark Casino, located in Deadwood, South Dakota’s largest historic building at 53 Sherman Street, announced the purchase of three adjacent single-story, street-level historic buildings located at 57, 59, and 61 Sherman Street, further expanding its footprint in the Sherman Street Entertainment District of Deadwood. Gerard Keating, Managing Partner for the casino, stated that the casino will expand into the adjacent 57 Sherman Street, adding 30 additional state-of-the-art slot machines, bringing its total to 150.
Keating also announced that 59 Sherman Street has been leased to Deer Mountain Village and Three Peaks Ranch for a sales center, and 61 Sherman Street has been leased to restaurateur local David Brueckner, who will open Dave’s Deli Delights by Cheyenne Crossing.
The Landmark Casino opened on November 13, 2023, in a 35,000 SF, five-story historic building located at 53 Sherman Street in Deadwood after a 3-year, $20 million restoration. The building, saved by this restoration, was constructed in six phases between 1894 and 1933 by Deadwood’s most successful businessperson, W.E. Adams. The casino currently offers 150 slots, live gaming tables including blackjack, ultimate Texas hold‘em, roulette, and 3-card poker, a sportsbook, two bars including the Adams Room Lounge, two outside patios, and 30 hotel rooms planned to open this summer with a private fourth-floor roof deck.
